Privacy controls

Delete your data.

Choose what to remove from your drive, your devices, and your support records.

LePan stores files on the Leither node you choose. Files on that node, copies on your phone, and records held by support have separate deletion controls. Uninstalling the app does not delete your node’s files or user identity.

Before you begin

If you want to remove both your files and this device’s identity, delete the files while you still have access to the drive. Save any copies you want to keep before permanently deleting items or clearing device data.

To keep your drive and just stop using one phone, go to Remove device access. To remove a user identity and its associated records from the node, go to Request deletion.

1. Stop automatic backups

  1. On each device that backs up the content you want to remove, open Settings → Auto sync.
  2. Turn off photo and video backup and the relevant folder-sync options. Remove selected folders from automatic syncing if you no longer want to copy them.
  3. If a transfer is running, use Stop sync.

Stopping backups leaves existing copies on the node. Turn off the relevant sources before deleting those copies, so a later sync does not upload the content again.

2. Delete files and backups from the node

  1. Open Files for items you manage directly, or Synced for photo and folder backups.
  2. Select the files or folders you want to remove and choose the action to move them to Trash.
  3. Open the corresponding Files Trash or Backup Trash. Review the items before permanently deleting them. Use Restore if you moved something there by mistake.
  4. Use Empty Trash only when you want to permanently delete all items in that Trash.

Items permanently deleted from Trash cannot be restored through Trash. Deleting a node copy does not delete the original on your phone or copies already downloaded by someone else.

The node operator controls any additional replicas, snapshots, and retention rules. Ask the operator whether further copies need to be removed. LePan cannot erase copies held by independent recipients.

3. Remove a device’s access

Forget the phone you are using

  1. Finish any file-deletion steps that require this phone’s access to the drive.
  2. Open Settings → Forget this device and review the confirmation.
  3. Confirm to remove the phone’s saved identity and associated local app data and stop its backups.

This does not delete the user identity or files on the node. To use the phone with the drive again, pair it through an authorized device.

Revoke access for another device

On a device with device-management permission, open Settings → My devices, select the device, and choose Remove access. This stops its future access to the drive; it does not remotely erase copies already downloaded to it.

LePan may require you to pair a replacement phone and device manager before removing access, to prevent lockout. The Forget action for an already-revoked device only removes its entry from the device list.

4. Clear remaining copies on your devices

iPhone and iPad

Use Forget this device before uninstalling LePan: saved identity credentials in iOS Keychain can survive reinstallation. Deleting the app removes its private app-container data. Separately delete any copies you exported to Photos, Files, or another app, including that app’s Recently Deleted area if you want them removed permanently.

Android

Use Forget this device, then uninstall LePan or use Android’s app-storage clearing controls to remove its local app data. Separately remove exported files from Downloads, Pictures, Movies, or other apps. Check those apps’ own Trash or deletion controls where applicable.

Computers and browsers

Delete files you downloaded to the computer using its file manager. Clearing browser site data removes local browser data, but does not delete node files or copies saved to your Downloads folder. Use My devices → Remove access from an authorized device to revoke the browser’s access to the drive.

5. Request deletion of other records

Node identity and stored data

Contact the administrator who operates your node to request removal of a user identity, associated node records, or retained copies that you cannot delete yourself. Describe which user and data your request concerns. The app developer cannot access or erase an independently operated node on your behalf.

Support correspondence

Contact support to request deletion of support records held by the developer. The link opens an email with the subject “LePan data deletion request”. Describe the correspondence you want removed and the email address used to contact support.

We may ask for information needed to verify the request. Do not send passwords, private keys, identity files, invitations, or personal documents.

What may remain

Support records can be deleted after verification, except where retention is necessary for legal or security obligations. Node retention is controlled by its operator. Copies exported to other apps, downloaded by recipients, or held on independent nodes must be handled separately.

See the privacy policy for more about data handling, or the support guide for device setup and backup controls.
